People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Many will seek counseling or psychotherapy during a time when they perceive that they are suffering or have a problem "to solve." Others view therapy as a means of achieving personal and spiritual growth through the dynamic relationship with a trusted guide. In both cases, therapy can assist you in moving through existing blockages and into a more whole and healthy way of being.
How do you choose a therapist?
The most important factor in choosing a therapist is finding a professional that you feel comfortable talking with. Studies show that the relationship that develops between the client and therapist is a key to a successful therapeutic experience. You should look for a therapist that you feel is non-judgmental, with whom you can be honest and open, and who challenges you to be your highest and best self.
How long does therapy take?
There is no set number of sessions for a therapeutic journey. The length of the therapy will be determined by your personal needs and desires.
How often will I need to see you?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions and, over time, come less frequently as individual goals are achieved. Clients interested in a deeper clinical experience may come two or three times per week.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and HealthChoice. It is your responsibility to determine whether your insurance provides mental health coverage, whether you have a deductible, whether you have met your deductible for the current policy year, and whether you have a co-pay. You must pay your deductible or co-pay at the time of your visit.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you do not show up for your regularly scheduled appointment and do not contact me at least 24 hours in advance you will be required to pay a $50 fee. Insurance is not available to pay for missed sessions.
